Product description
Reishi and Lingzhi
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a wood-growing fungus with a shiny reddish-brown upper surface and a porous underside. Known as Lingzhi, it has a long history in Chinese culture and natural traditions. Its historical association with longevity is not a medical promise. The genus Ganoderma includes closely related species, making reliable identification important.
Cultivated on wood, using the fruiting body
We grow Reishi on an organic substrate based on solid oak wood. We select fruiting bodies approximately six to nine months old. Our extract uses the developed fruiting body; grain-grown mycelium and growing substrate are not added as fillers.
Fermentation and dual extraction
Reishi has a tough fruiting body. We use fermentation and dual extraction to obtain different groups of compounds. Water-soluble polysaccharides and less polar triterpenes do not necessarily require the same extraction conditions. The concentrated extract is dried and encapsulated.
At least 30% polysaccharides and 4% triterpenes
The extract is standardised to at least 30% total polysaccharides, typically around 33–34%, and at least 4% triterpenes. Reishi naturally contains compounds such as beta-glucans and triterpenes, including ganoderic acids. The 30% polysaccharide figure is not a separate beta-glucan assay. This product differs from our Reishi 50% extract with 20% beta-glucans.
60 plant-based capsules
Each capsule contains 300–350 mg Reishi extract; each container holds 60 capsules. We use plant-based pullulan from tapioca instead of gelatin or HPMC. No sugar, fillers, preservatives or synthetic colours, fragrances or flavourings are added.
Quality, tradition and scientific research
We check raw materials for identity, composition and unwanted contaminants. The manufacturing process does not involve irradiation. Reishi compounds are studied in laboratory and clinical research, but findings involving isolated compounds or different preparations do not prove a medical effect of these capsules. Results cannot simply be transferred between different Ganoderma species and extracts.
