Short description
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a wood-growing fungus with colourful concentric bands. Healthy Fungi offers two distinct animal-extract strengths: at least 40% total polysaccharides or at least 50% total polysaccharides with 20% beta-glucans. Each version contains 60 plant-based capsules.
Product description
An unmistakable wood fungus
Turkey Tail forms overlapping, fan-shaped fruiting bodies on dead hardwood. Its natural brown, beige and grey bands give the fungus its characteristic appearance. The scientific name is Trametes versicolor, formerly also called Coriolus versicolor; Japanese and Chinese names include Kawaratake and Yun Zhi.
From fruiting body to extract
Our product uses Turkey Tail fruiting-body material. The original product documentation describes natural highland areas of China and growth on deciduous tree trunks. The material is processed into an extract and packed in plant-based capsules. Origin, fungal identity and extraction matter: concentrated extract should not be confused with ordinary ground mushroom.
Two separate strengths
The first version is standardised to at least 40% total polysaccharides, provides 60 capsules and is listed at €23. The second is standardised to at least 50% total polysaccharides and at least 20% beta-glucans, also provides 60 capsules and is listed at €30. These are distinct product specifications; the chosen variant and selling price must match at checkout.
Polysaccharides and beta-glucans
Polysaccharides are complex carbohydrates found in fungi. Beta-glucans form one particular group within them. Total polysaccharide measurements do not separately establish beta-glucan content. No specific beta-glucan percentage is confirmed for the 40% version. The 20% beta-glucan claim applies exclusively to the 50% version.
Tradition and research
Turkey Tail has a long history in East Asia. Researchers have studied isolated polysaccharide complexes including PSK and PSP. Those research preparations are not automatically equivalent to our capsules. Research on particular extracts must not be presented as proof that these products treat disease in dogs, cats or horses.
Animals and administration
For animal use only, especially dogs, cats and horses; not intended for human consumption. An appropriate amount depends on species, body weight, health and concomitant medicines. Available source documents do not establish a dependable dose per kilogram; we therefore do not invent a dosing schedule.
Quality and selection
Verify the selected strength before purchase. Each container holds 60 capsules. Store closed in a dry place, out of reach of children and animals. Check the current label for all ingredients and sensitivities; batch specifications should match current quality documentation.
Precautions
Consult a veterinarian in case of illness, persistent symptoms, medication use, pregnancy or lactation. Do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment with this product. Composition percentages describe constituents, not proven therapeutic effects.
