Short description
Snow Mushroom extract from the fruiting body of Tremella fuciformis, with at least 30% polysaccharides. 60 plant-based capsules.
Product description
The white jelly fungus
Snow Mushroom, also called silver ear, yin er or bai mu er, produces white to cream, folded, gelatinous fruiting bodies. Tremella fuciformis grows on wood in association with other fungi in nature. It has a long culinary history in China and other East Asian countries.
Fruiting body and cultivation
Our product uses the fruiting body of Tremella fuciformis, not mycelium powder or the substrate on which a fungus grows. Raw material origin, species identification and processing methods are important aspects of our quality review.
Distinctive polysaccharides
Tremella contains complex heteropolysaccharides. Scientific analyses describe building blocks including mannose, xylose and glucuronic acid. Some fractions show remarkable water-binding and viscous properties. Molecular structure and weight influence these properties; observations made with isolated fractions should not be presented as established effects of these capsules.
Extraction and standardisation
Water extraction can release soluble constituents, followed by filtration, concentration and drying. Our Snow Mushroom extract is standardised to at least 30% total polysaccharides. This figure is not a separate beta-glucan assay and does not quantify any single Tremella fraction.
Capsules, quality and use
Each pack contains 60 plant-based pullulan capsules derived from organic tapioca, without HPMC. Raw materials are checked by an independent German laboratory before processing and are not irradiated during production. Take 2–3 capsules daily. Store tightly closed in a dry, dark place. Higher personalised intake requires individual professional advice.
Culinary heritage and the extract we make
The delicate, white, translucent folds of Tremella fuciformis are familiar in Chinese cuisine, where it is called yin er or bai mu er. Whole Snow Mushroom is traditionally used in soups and sweet preparations. Our capsules contain a standardised extract, not cooked whole mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms, dried mushrooms and concentrated extracts differ in moisture content, processing and composition; their amounts should not be treated as interchangeable.
A fungus with an unusual life cycle
In nature, Snow Mushroom develops on wood in association with other fungi. Its gelatinous fruiting body is the visible structure. Fruiting body, mycelium and the cultivation substrate are distinct materials. We select the fruiting body for our extract, and assess the identity and traceability of the raw material before considering any numerical specification.
Polysaccharides and the texture of Tremella
Tremella contains branched heteropolysaccharides built from several sugars, including mannose, xylose and glucuronic acid. Fractions can differ in the proportions of those sugars, their molecular weight and their branching. These features influence solubility, viscosity and water-binding behaviour. Results obtained with one purified fraction do not describe every Snow Mushroom preparation, much less establish a clinical effect of our capsules.
Understanding the 30% standardisation
Our extract contains at least 30% total polysaccharides. This is a compositional specification for a group of substances, not a separate beta-glucan measurement and not the concentration of one named Tremella fraction. Water extraction is commonly used to recover soluble constituents; filtering, concentrating and drying can alter the final composition. We do not invent an extraction ratio, temperature, solvent proportion or molecular-weight profile without batch-specific documentation.
Research: where the evidence applies
Researchers investigate Tremella polysaccharide structure and the physical properties of isolated fractions. Preclinical studies also examine interactions with gut microorganisms and cellular systems. Separately, purified Tremella-derived materials are investigated as water-binding ingredients in cosmetic preparations. Laboratory, animal and cosmetic findings cannot simply be turned into proven health benefits from oral capsules. Conclusions about this supplement require suitably designed studies on a comparable finished product.
Capsule composition and quality
We use Tremella fuciformis fruiting-body extract in plant-based pullulan capsules derived from organic tapioca; the shell contains no HPMC. Each jar contains 60 capsules. The raw materials are checked before processing by an independent German laboratory and are not irradiated during manufacture. Responsible quality assessment considers species identity, polysaccharide testing, purity, contaminants and supporting batch records. The milligram weight of extract per capsule has not been confirmed for this item and is therefore not stated.
Practical use and companion products
Our general directions are 2–3 capsules daily with water, preferably on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after food. Earlier individual programmes also describe 4–6 capsules; that higher amount is not the general dose and requires professional individual assessment. Acerola and traditional Chaga infusion are separate products sometimes discussed alongside mushroom supplements, not ingredients in this jar. Traditional Chaga infusion uses water around 70–80 °C and a long steeping time. Avoid building complicated combinations without reviewing other supplements and medication.
Storage and precautions
Keep the original container tightly closed in a dry, dark place and out of reach of children. Supplements do not replace a varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Avoid use if sensitive to mushrooms or another ingredient. Consult a healthcare professional during pregnancy, breastfeeding, illness or medication use. A history of culinary consumption does not establish the safety of unlimited amounts of concentrated extract.
