Cordyceps 50% and 20% beta-glucans – Ophiocordyceps sinensis
Our Cordyceps extract comes from a cultivated fungal culture, with at least 50% total polysaccharides and 20% separately measured beta-glucans. The jar contains 60 plant-based pullulan capsules, each with 300–350 mg extract. Precise species identification and testing of the cultivated strain are essential quality criteria.
Introduction

Product description
Cordyceps: a remarkable fungus from the Himalayan tradition
Cordyceps is known in Tibetan and Chinese traditions. The fungus now called Ophiocordyceps sinensis was formerly named Cordyceps sinensis. In its natural habitat on the Tibetan Plateau and in the Himalayas, it develops in association with subterranean moth larvae. Its fruiting body emerges above ground as a dark stalk.
From wild Cordyceps to controlled cultivation
Wild Ophiocordyceps sinensis is scarce. Our extract therefore comes from a cultivated fungal culture containing mycelium and other fungal structures. It is not an extract made exclusively from wild, mature fruiting bodies. The source and identity of the cultivated strain matter because products sold as Cordyceps can originate from different species and cultures.
Standardized polysaccharides and beta-glucans
Our extract is standardized to at least 50% total polysaccharides and 20% beta-glucans. Beta-glucans are a subgroup of polysaccharides; these percentages are reported separately and must not be added together. Analytical methods must distinguish fungal components from any starch originating in the cultivation medium.
Extraction and composition
Hot-water extraction releases water-soluble constituents from fungal material. Concentrating and drying produces an extract powder. Cordyceps cultures contain diverse natural compounds, including polysaccharides, glucans, nucleosides such as adenosine, amino acids and sterol-like substances. Their concentrations vary with strain and extraction method. Research into other species, such as Cordyceps militaris, cannot automatically be applied to our extract.
60 plant-based capsules
Each pullulan capsule contains 300–350 mg extract. Sixty capsules provide approximately 18–21 g of extract per jar. We distinguish the fungal extract, capsule shell and culture substrate.
Quality and identification
Our quality assessment covers the cultivated strain's identity, composition, standardization and purity. Microorganisms, heavy metals, potential culture-medium residues and batch analyses are relevant. Polysaccharide or beta-glucan content is a product specification, not a guarantee of any medical effect.
Use and storage
The general directions are 2–3 capsules daily with water on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after meals. A higher individual regimen is not a standard dose and requires professional advice. Store tightly closed, dry and dark at 10–25 °C, out of children's reach. Seek medical or pharmaceutical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or living with a medical condition. Do not use if allergic to fungi or ingredients.

Use
Take 2–3 capsules daily with a glass of water, preferably on an empty stomach, around 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after food. A higher personalized schedule of 4–6 capsules daily requires individual professional advice. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store tightly closed, dry and dark at 10–25 °C, out of children’s reach.
Indications
Cordyceps has a history of traditional use and is investigated for the biological composition of its fungal cultures. No therapeutic indications or proven disease-treatment effects are claimed for this supplement.
Contraindications
Do not use if allergic to fungi or any ingredient. Consult a physician or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in children, while taking medicines, with chronic conditions or impaired immunity. Be especially alert to potential interactions with medicines affecting blood clotting or the immune system. Check potential culture-medium allergens. Supplements do not replace a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
